The Rochester Area Colleges, Inc. (the “RAC”), an affiliated group of higher education institutions in the greater Rochester, NY area, was granted a provisional charter in 1970 by the Board of Regents of the New York State Education Department and a Certificate of Incorporation in 1975. The Certificate established the RAC’s location as Monroe County, NY. Established with the aim of fostering cooperation among its member institutions, the RAC has grown to its current membership of 18 higher education entities spanning a broad array of institutional types.
